Whole School EAL Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Whole School EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher to join our bilingual international school community in Chongqing. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students’ English language development across the school, ensuring they can fully access and succeed in the curriculum from Early Years through to Secondary.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and lead a whole-school EAL programme that supports bilingual learners at all stages of English language acquisition.
- Provide targeted EAL instruction through both pull-out and in-class support models.
- Collaborate with classroom and subject teachers to adapt materials and differentiate instruction for EAL learners.
- Use data and assessment to monitor student progress and inform teaching strategies.
- Provide professional development and coaching to staff on effective EAL practices.
- Contribute to the wider school community and support the school’s mission of bilingual, holistic education.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
* Recognised EAL/ESL teaching qualification (TESOL, CELTA, PGCE, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in teaching and supporting bilingual or multilingual learners, ideally within an international or bilingual school setting.
* Experience in curriculum development and teacher training in EAL strategies is highly desirable.
* Excellent command of English (native or near-native proficiency); proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not essential.
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, flexible approach to teaching and leadership.
