Position Overview
The school is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and qualified IBDP Physics Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in line with IB standards, helping students develop strong conceptual understanding, practical lab skills, and analytical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB Diploma Programme Physics (SL and HL) to Grade 11–12 students.
- Prepare students for internal and external IB assessments, including the Internal Assessment (IA) and the Group 4 project.
- Design inquiry-based lessons that align with the IB learner profile and ATL skills.
- Provide academic guidance, support, and mentoring to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and school events.
- Contribute to professional learning and uphold the school’s values of excellence and integrity.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, teaching licence) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, ideally within an IBDP framework.
- Strong command of English (native or near-native level).
- Familiarity with the IB philosophy, assessment criteria, and standards.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing.
Desirable
- IB training or certification (Category 1 or above).
- Experience with Extended Essay supervision and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) collaboration.
- Familiarity with international and bilingual education environments.
- Competency in Mandarin is a plus but not required.
