Job Summary
The school is looking for an experienced and passionate A Level Economics Teacher to join their growing team. The successful candidate will deliver the Cambridge International A Level Economics syllabus to high school students and help them develop analytical, critical thinking, and exam skills needed for top university placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach A Level Economics to students aged 16–18.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and Cambridge A Level examinations.
- Design engaging, student-centred lesson plans and learning materials.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental collaboration.
- Participate in school events, academic counselling, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics or a related field; teaching qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Economics, preferably within an A Level or international curriculum.
- Fluent English speaker with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge A Level Economics syllabus and assessment objectives.
- Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate high-achieving students.
Desirable
- Experience working with Chinese students or in a bilingual/international context.
- Experience supporting students with UK university applications (e.g., personal statements, Oxbridge prep).
- Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school through clubs or competitions.
