Early Years Academic Director
Leadership role in Shanghai

SeekTeachers is seeking an inspirational and experienced Early Years Academic Director to join a K–12 international school in Shanghai from January/February 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding early years educator and leader to shape the academic direction, quality and culture of our Early Years provision within a high-performing, internationally minded school community.
The Role
The Early Years Academic Director will provide strategic and pedagogical leadership across the Early Years phase, ensuring that children experience an ambitious, engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum from their earliest years.
Key Responsibilities:
-Set up and implement curriculum frameworks (IB PYP, EYFS, Montessori with localised adaptation-Chinese international curriculum integration, teaching plan approval
-Participate in faculty recruitment process
-Organise onboarding training & regular pedagogical workshops
-Establish teacher evaluation criteria,assess teaching quality and ensure parents satisfaction
-Conduct classroom inspection, guide classroom layout, lesson materials optimisation
-Parent activity organisation, parent complaint handling
-Handle and maintain foreign teacher compliance
-Work closely with Admissions department, provide curriculum highlights for enrollment presentations and receive prospective parents/students.
-Planning variety of school activities for example Christmas, Holloween, Spring break etc.
Requirements:
- A bachelor degree should be related to Education or EYFS
- EYFS/UK trained candidate is highly desirable
- At least 2 years strong management experience in an International school
- Familiarity with EYFS curriculum, must have teaching experience EYFS or IB PYP
- Understanding of Chinese or Asian Culture-Open, felxible and has good interpersonal skills
