Location: Al Ain, United Arab Emirates
Position: Mathematics Teacher

About the Opportunity

An established international school in Al Ain, UAE is seeking an experienced Male Mathematics Teacher to join its academic team.

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across the relevant grade levels, delivering a combination of the US Common Core curriculum and International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP).

This role would suit a confident and adaptable Mathematics educator who can combine strong subject knowledge with inquiry-based, student-centred teaching. Experience with IB MYP and/or DP Mathematics is highly desirable, while previous experience within the UAE or wider GCC will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons aligned with US Common Core and IB frameworks.
  • Teach Mathematics across the appropriate grade levels and IB programmes.
  • Develop students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Create engaging lessons that encourage inquiry, collaboration, and independent learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students with a range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Prepare students for relevant internal and external assessments.
  • Assess student learning, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and student engagement.
  • Integrate appropriate technology and digital resources into Mathematics instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, and student support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and members of the wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development, school events, and extracurricular activities.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and academically ambitious school environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed., teaching licence, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics in a school setting.
  • Experience with the US Common Core curriculum is highly desirable.
  • IB MYP and/or IB DP Mathematics experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Mathematics and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Previous UAE or GCC teaching experience is an advantage.
  • Candidates who can join ASAP will be prioritised.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: AED 12,750–15,800 per month, dependent upon qualifications and years of relevant experience.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered
Prefer candidates with international experience
Additional:
**Experience of the IB Curriculum is beneficial but not essential as training will be given
**Experience of USA Curriculum such as American Harcourt, AP and Common Core is highly valued
**It will be beneficial to your application if you have experience of working in the Middle East or with non-native speakers of English
**Degree in Maths needed

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 12375 up to 15,300  AED (UAE Dirham) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

500AED per month
