🏫 About the Role:
As the Head of Boarding, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and daily management of the boarding program, ensuring that the boarding community is safe, inclusive, and enriching. You will create a warm and supportive environment where students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
You will work closely with the school’s leadership team, residential staff, and parents to ensure that the boarding experience complements the school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
*Leadership & Management: Lead all aspects of the boarding program, including student welfare, staff supervision, operations, and compliance.
*Student Well-Being: Ensure the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being for all boarding students, fostering a positive and nurturing community.
*Pastoral Care: Develop and oversee programs that promote resilience, independence, and life skills, helping students grow into confident global citizens.
*Residential Life: Plan and implement engaging activities, routines, and experiences that create a strong sense of belonging and community spirit within the boarding houses.
*Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and support boarding staff, promoting a culture of care, teamwork, and professionalism.
*Policies & Safeguarding: Maintain and implement boarding policies, ensuring full compliance with safeguarding and child protection standards.
*Parent Communication: Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and guardians through transparent, proactive communication.
*Collaboration: Work closely with academic and pastoral leaders to support students’ academic progress and personal development.
*Operations & Logistics: Oversee daily operations, facilities management, and health and safety procedures within the boarding houses.
About You:
You are an empathetic and organized leader with a genuine passion for student welfare and holistic education. You bring:
- Proven experience in boarding leadership or pastoral care, ideally within an international or residential school setting.
- A deep understanding of adolescent development and the challenges of living and learning away from home.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire trust and respect among students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusivity, and creating a supportive, family-like environment.
- A Bachelor’s degree and relevant teaching or pastoral qualification (advanced degree or leadership training preferred).
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively within a diverse, international community.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine enthusiasm for the unique rewards of boarding life.
