This is an exciting dual role that combines academic leadership of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) with classroom teaching in your subject specialism — Chemistry or Mathematics. 🎓 About the Role:
As IBDP Coordinator, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Diploma Programme (Grades 11–12). You will ensure the programme’s successful implementation, foster excellence in teaching and learning, and support students in achieving their full potential within the IB framework.
In addition to your leadership duties, you will teach a reduced timetable in DP Chemistry or DP Mathematics, bringing subject expertise, enthusiasm, and inspiration directly to your students.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme Leadership:
- Lead the development, coordination, and delivery of the IBDP, ensuring alignment with IB standards and the school’s educational philosophy.
- Support teachers in planning, assessing, and reflecting on effective IB learning experiences.
- Guide students and parents in understanding the demands and opportunities of the Diploma Programme.
- Manage key IB administrative processes, including internal assessments, examinations, and the Extended Essay.
- Oversee university guidance collaboration, ensuring students are well prepared for global higher education pathways.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Teach a reduced timetable of IB Diploma Chemistry or IB Diploma Mathematics, delivering engaging and challenging lessons.
- Inspire students through creative, inquiry-based approaches that promote deep understanding and critical thinking.
- Contribute to the wider academic and co-curricular life of the school, modelling curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Mentor and support IBDP teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
- Work closely with the Secondary Principal, MYP Coordinator, and academic leadership team to ensure a smooth transition between programmes.
- Liaise with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and prepare for programme evaluations and authorization reviews.
About You:
You are a dedicated, student-centered IB educator who combines academic expertise with strategic leadership. You bring:
*Significant experience teaching in the IB Diploma Programme (Chemistry or Mathematics essential).
*Proven success as an IBDP Coordinator, or strong readiness to step into a leadership role within the programme.
*A deep understanding of IB philosophy, assessment practices, and curriculum frameworks.
*Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
*The ability to lead, inspire, and build collaborative relationships across staff, students, and parents.
*A Bachelor’s degree and teaching qualification (Master’s degree or IB leadership training preferred).
