August 2026 start 
 
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic English Teacher to join an exciting new British international school in Lagos, Nigeria. As the school prepares to launch its IGCSE and A Level cohorts, they are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher to inspire their students and be part of this ambitious educational journey.

What’s Involved:
- Teach English at both IGCSE and A Level, delivering engaging lessons that foster a love for literature, language, and critical thinking.
- Develop Curriculum alongside a dedicated team, ensuring that the English curriculum is both innovative and aligned with the best practices of the British education system.
- Mentor & Motivate students to achieve their best, offering support both inside and outside the classroom to encourage personal growth and academic success.
- Boarding Duties: This role also involves taking on boarding responsibilities, where you will help to guide and mentor students outside of school hours, contributing to their wellbeing and community life.
- Extra-curricular Engagement: Lead or support initiatives that enrich the student experience beyond the classroom, such as clubs, literary events, or community projects.
 
Key Responsibilities:
*Create and deliver inspiring lessons that engage students in exploring language, literature, and writing.
*Assess and support students’ progress, providing timely feedback and guidance to help them excel academically and personally.
*Contribute to a positive school culture, supporting students' development as responsible, compassionate, and globally-minded individuals.
*Take part in boarding duties, providing supervision, care, and mentorship to students in the boarding house.
*Support a vibrant school community by engaging in extracurricular activities, from clubs to school events, making learning enjoyable and dynamic.
 
What We’re Looking For:
*A degree in English, Literature, or a related field.
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
*Strong experience teaching English at IGCSE and A Level, with the ability to motivate students and foster a passion for literature.
*A creative and adaptable teaching style, with a commitment to student-centered learning.
*A strong sense of community and willingness to take on boarding duties to contribute to student life.
*A proactive attitude, with a passion for professional development and the growth of the school as a whole.
 
Desirable:
*Experience with the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum.
*Previous experience teaching in an international school environment.
*Interest or experience in extracurricular activities (debate, drama, literary magazines, etc.).

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 35,000 up to 50,000  USD (U.S. Dollar) per annum based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

2 bedroom  fully furnished Housing provided
