Female Careers Counsellor | ASAP Start | USA and IB School


Experienced Careers Counsellor required for an IB Curriculum school in Ras Al Khamah. You need to have a bachelors degree in Counselling and experience of coaching/supporting students to go on to further education. MUST be billingual and able to speak Arabic and English.

We are looking for an experienced Career's Counsellor that will make a difference to students that are on the way to exiting school and progressing with their education or the career.

Career's Counsellor Job Duties:
**Advise Emirati students on the further paths to achieve their goals
**Interviewing students and build profiles on their qualifications, experienced, likes and dislikes
**Support the students on job application as well as university applications
**Assist students with drafting up resume's and covering letters
**Identify gaps in student’s applications and help them develop to maximise their chance of securing employment
**Work with outside organisations to help provide opportunities for students
**Be computer literate and have a good command of using MS office
**Be able to carry out presentations to students about their career options
**Be adaptable to meet the needs of students
**Meet with parent's to advise how their child is progressing
**Help set up work experience for students
**Work closely with teachers to better understand and facilitate student’s career path
**Build connection with outside organisations to bring them in and present opportunities to the students
**Managing various organisations, charities and employment companies
**Assist students in identifying the current job market
**Assist students in creating and action plan for employment, education and training and supporting students achieve the goal
 
The school has about 1000 students most of which are Emirati students. The majority of the teachers are western native speakers of English and are keen to get the best from the students. The school is currently delivering the IB curriculum so if you have knowledge of this as well as experience of working in the UAE or other Middle East countries it will be beneficial to you application.

Requirements to apply
**Degree in Counselling
**At least 2 years of Careers Counselling experience
**Experience and working knowledge of universities in the USA, Canada, UK and Ireland as well as local UAE Universities
**Experience of being a Careers Advisor/Counsellor in the Middle East is preferred
**A high command of written and spoken English
**Up to date with modern pedagogy
**Be willing to deliver INSET or Careers Training to students
**Competent in using technology

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Additional:
**Your degree MUST be related to Counselling/Careers Counselling or equivalent
**Experience of working in an Islamic environment/students is beneficial for you
**If you can offer a secondary subject, this would help your application
**Singles or teaching couples with NO children are preferred
**MUST be bilingual to speak Arabic and English

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 9000 up to 16000  AED (UAE Dirham) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Gratuity Amount:

3 years contract renewable on mutual agreement
