Our client is recruiting for an MYP Mathematics teacher to join them in Phnom Penh, the capital city in Cambodia. The school follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum and offers Primary Year Programme (PYP), Middle Year Programme (MYP) and Diploma programme (DP) to students aged between 5-18 year old. The school is a fully authorised IB world school and provides a high standard of best international education to the students.
This international school has 800 students consist of 30% expatriate students and 70% non-expatriate students. There are 80 staff in the whole school mixed with 70% composed of expatriates with over 30 nationalities and 30% locals. English is widely spoken within the staff and therefore you will be able to adapt yourself comfortably in the school.
Job specifications:
**Deliver lesson in accordance to the MYP curriculum and examination syllabus
**Make use learning resources appropriately and ensure they are up-to-date
**Create fun and interesting learning environment for students to ensure they are keen to learn
**Carry out any other reasonable duties given by the Head
**Build a good relationship with parents and ensure they are aware of their children progress
**Participate in department, school and parent meeting
**Assist students who have difficulties during the lesson
**Set tasks and challenges for students according to their abilities
The school has a large modern campus situated on a 5 acre of green land in the north of Phnom Penh. The school has highly equipped facilities such as library, good size classrooms, IT lab, 2 large science lab, indoor swimming pool, athletics field, basketball and volleyball court art & design room, garden, gymnasium and canteen.
Cambodia is a small country in Southeast Asia. It may not be as famous as its neighbour countries such as Thailand and Vietnam but it is developing rapidly in the last decade and definitely has its own charm. The country has a tropical climate and warm throughout the year with a monsoon period between May and November. The cost of living in the country is relatively low and you could actually rent a fully furnished mansion for just £100.00. The official language in the country is Khmer but other languages such as English, Thai and Chinese are also widely spoken.
