SeekTeachers is urgently seeking an experienced IGCSE English teacher to join our client in Wuxi, China. The role is to start immediately and the successful candidate will teach English as a Foreign Language up to IGCSE level, supporting students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, together with the academic language needed across the curriculum.
This bilingual school has been operating since 2018 and currently enrols over 750 students from Early Years to High School. The school is conveniently located in Wux city that offers a excellent transport connections. The international airport is around 20 minutes from school, while high-speed rail connects Wuxi to Shanghai in approximately 44 minutes.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured IGCSE English as a Foreign Language lessons
- Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening
- Build students' academic vocabulary, grammar, accuracy and fluency
- Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language examinations
- Use assessment and feedback to identify individual needs and support progress
- Help students develop the confidence to use English successfully across their wider academic studies
- Contribute to the wider academic, pastoral and co-curricular life of the school

Requirements to apply:
*Degree in English, English Language, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field
*Recognised teaching qualification, license or certification, such as UK QTS/PGCE
*At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
*Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) at Secondary level
*Experience preparing students for Cambridge IGCSE English as a Foreign Language or a comparable examination curriculum
*Strong understanding of second-language acquisition and academic English development
*Experience teaching within an international, bilingual, British or comparable Secondary school environment
*Able to meet Chinese work-permit requirements
*Able to join the school as soon as possible
