The successful candidate will be an inspiring classroom practitioner with a passion for English and a commitment to achieving high standards. You will play an important role in developing students' confidence, critical thinking, literacy, and communication skills within a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated English lessons.
- Teach English across the secondary age range, according to the school's curriculum.
- Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, and critical analysis.
- Inspire students through a wide range of literature and engaging learning activities.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain high expectations of achievement, behaviour, and academic progress.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students of varying abilities.
- Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development, and assessment.
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate fully in the wider life of the school and extracurricular activities.
Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree in English or a related subject.
- Previous experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to student progress, wellbeing, and academic excellence.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse and international school community.
- Experience with an international or British curriculum would be advantageous.
