An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Secondary English Teacher to join a highly regarded American international school in Dubai for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Our client school is seeking an inspiring and innovative educator who is passionate about literature, language, critical thinking, and student achievement. The successful candidate will join a dynamic Secondary team delivering a high-quality American curriculum within a diverse and ambitious international school community.
Candidates with strong experience in the US Common Core Standards and Advanced Placement (AP) programmes are highly desirable.
The Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and academically rigorous English lessons across the Secondary phase, inspiring students to become confident communicators, analytical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
Key responsibilities include:
*Teaching Secondary English Language Arts within an American curriculum framework
*Delivering high-quality instruction aligned with US Common Core Standards
*Preparing students for AP English courses where applicable
*Encouraging critical thinking, discussion, creativity, and academic writing
*Creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment
*Using data and assessment effectively to support student progress
*Contributing to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
*Participating fully in the wider life of the school community
The ideal candidate will have:
*A recognised teaching qualification and relevant degree in English or a related field
*Experience teaching Secondary English within an American curriculum school
*Strong knowledge of US Common Core Standards
*AP English teaching experience highly desirable
*Excellent classroom management and communication skills
*A student-centred and collaborative approach to teaching and learning
*Experience working in international school settings preferred
*A passion for innovation, literacy, and academic excellence
