This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic leader to inspire teaching and learning across the secondary school, ensuring that every student reaches their fullest potential within a rigorous, inquiry-driven, and globally minded curriculum.

🎓 About the Role:
As Deputy Secondary Principal – Academic, you will work closely with the Secondary Principal and academic leadership team to shape and implement a high-quality academic vision for students in Grades 6–12. You will lead curriculum development, assessment practices, and faculty professional growth while promoting a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

You will be a driving force in ensuring that academic programs are challenging, relevant, and aligned with international best practices — preparing students to thrive in higher education and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in teaching and learning across the secondary school, ensuring consistency, coherence, and excellence in academic programs.
- Curriculum Development: Oversee the review, design, and implementation of a progressive, inquiry-based curriculum (including MYP/IBDP or equivalent), ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and standards.
- Assessment & Reporting: Lead the development of effective assessment practices that support learning, promote reflection, and inform teaching.
- Data-Informed Improvement: Analyze academic data to identify trends, set improvement goals, and implement evidence-based strategies for student success.
- Faculty Development: Mentor and support teachers through instructional coaching, professional learning, and collaborative goal-setting.
- Innovation in Learning: Champion the integration of technology, creativity, and interdisciplinary learning to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high standards in teaching practice through observation, feedback, and faculty appraisal processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Deputy Principal – Pastoral to ensure academic success is closely linked to student well-being.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong communication with students, parents, and the broader school community about academic progress, expectations, and opportunities.

About You:
You are a confident, reflective, and visionary educational leader who thrives on fostering excellence in learning and teaching. You will bring:
*Proven leadership experience in an academic or curriculum leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant Principal, or Deputy Principal), ideally in an international or IB context.
*A deep understanding of inquiry-based learning and concept-driven curricula (experience with MYP and/or IBDP strongly preferred).
*Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to lead data-informed school improvement.
*A passion for developing teachers and building collaborative, high-performing teams.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire trust and respect among staff, students, and families.
*A relevant degree and teaching qualification, with postgraduate or leadership certification preferred.
