We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, with the expertise to develop and implement strategies that support the diverse needs of our students. The SENCo will play a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the provision for students with special educational needs (SEN).
Our client is one of the expanding educational institutions located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The school is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all their students. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
- Identify and assess students with SEN, developing individualized education plans (IEPs) to support their learning.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create and implement effective support strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN best practices and inclusive teaching methods.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEN, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of students with SEN.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and promotes the well-being of all students.
- Liaise with parents to provide regular updates on their child’s progress and support needs.
- Stay current with developments in SEN education and integrate innovative practices into the school’s SEN program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a SENCo role or a similar position.
- In-depth knowledge of SEN policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and tools.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and specialists.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to the UAE’s educational environment.
