Our client in Beijing is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Learning Support (Secondary) to lead and further develop their inclusive education provision from August 2026.

About the Role
As Head of Learning Support (Secondary), you will lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of learning support across the Secondary School (Years 7–13). You will coordinate individualised support for students with diverse learning needs and ensure that inclusive practices are embedded across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Learning Support across the Secondary School.
- Lead and manage a team of Learning Support teachers and assistants.
- Coordinate the identification, assessment, and support of students with diverse learning needs, including those with specific learning difficulties, ADHD, ASD, and other needs.
- Develop and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with teachers, students, and parents.
- Support classroom teachers in implementing differentiated and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Act as a key point of contact for parents, specialists, and external agencies.
- Monitor student progress and report on support effectiveness and outcomes.
- Promote professional development and awareness of inclusive education practices across the staff body.
- Contribute to the school’s wider pastoral and wellbeing initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
* A qualified teacher with additional qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs / Learning Support (e.g. PGCert SEN, NASENCO, M.Ed. Inclusion, etc.).
* Significant experience supporting students with a range of learning needs in a secondary school setting.
* A deep understanding of international curricula (IGCSE and/or IB preferred) and inclusive education frameworks.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead a team, influence whole-school practices, and build strong partnerships.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
* A collaborative and empathetic professional committed to student wellbeing and success.
* Experience in an international school environment is an advantage, but not essential.
