Our client in Beijing is seeking a creative, passionate, and inspiring Primary School Art Teacher to join their dynamic Primary School team from August 2026. About the Role
As a Primary Art Teacher, you will deliver a rich and inspiring visual arts programme that nurtures creativity, cultural awareness, and technical skill in students across Years 3 to 6. You will work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the wider Arts team to integrate art into cross-curricular themes and whole-school initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach high-quality, engaging art lessons to Junior School students (Years 3–6).
- Plan and deliver a diverse curriculum covering a wide range of media, techniques, and artistic traditions.
- Inspire students to explore and express themselves creatively while building technical skills and visual literacy.
- Organise and contribute to art exhibitions, displays, and whole-school events celebrating student creativity.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varied needs and abilities of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and themed units.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued and successful.
- Participate fully in the life of the school, including co-curricular activities and pastoral care.
The Ideal Candidate
- A qualified teacher with a degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Art in a primary or elementary school setting, ideally within an international or inquiry-based curriculum.
- A passion for visual arts and a deep understanding of how to nurture creativity and skill in young learners.
- Familiarity with a range of art media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and digital art.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A collaborative, reflective, and student-centred approach.
- Experience in an international school is an advantage but not essential.
