Our client is a small but growing school in Dubai that is located about 20 minutes from the Burj Khalifah. The school follows and IB Curriculum currently delivering the IB PYP and the MYP but is looking for a strong Head of Secondary who can further develop the school with IB MYP and DP experience.
 
You will be required to take responsibility for all day-to-day operations of the secondary school from August 2015. With proven leadership and people management skills along with a leadership background in education you will be passionate about delivering high quality education. 
 
You will be an excellent communicator who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change within an international and multi-cultural setting. Amongst other things, you will be well organised, have a good sense of humour and will be driven by your determination to improve quality and develop the school in line with our Mission and Vision statements. 
 
As a passionate leader, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to a modern, constructivist, inquiry-based, approach to education that inspires and engages students. You will have experience of how technology can be used to enhance, transform and personalise learning. You will be experienced in the latest assessment methods and have experience in the IB curricula. Your teaching/administration ratio will change each year as the school continues to grow.

**Ensure the continued development and improvement of the Secondary Department 
**Supervise the development and delivery of the School’s curriculum, especially as it applies to the secondary department 
**Assist the principal with any personnel matters 
**Assist with general administrative matters resulting in the effective operation of the School, especially as they relate to the secondary department 
**Develop, inspire, mentor, supervise and evaluate the secondary faculty and staff to preserve high quality, consistency and innovation in the delivery of the program 
**Be a positive, collaborative and contributing member to the Leadership team 
**Possess a “student’s first” service mindset
 
As a member of the school’s Leadership Team, you will collaborate with the Principal, Head of Primary and our PYP/MYP coordinators to implement the mission of the through strategic planning and administration of the school’s programmes.

Selection Criteria
**Advanced degree in education with an emphasis on administration, or the equivalent 
**A proven track record in educational leadership – demonstrated ability to be an innovative instructional leader as well as an effective manager – a builder and a positive change agent 
**Demonstrated knowledge of current educational practices for high school aged students and public relations with parents and the wider school community 
**International Baccalaureate experience in an international school and passionate support for the IB philosophy, the IB learner profile and inquiry based pedagogy. 
**Prior experience as an educator 
**Experience developing a high quality University guidance program 
**An overall management style characterized by teambuilding, appropriate transparency, approachability and support balanced by decisiveness and accountability 
**Proven ability as an innovative, results-oriented, self-motivated, energetic, creative problem solver and professional 
**A proven capacity to communicate orally and in writing to faculty, staff and parents with consistency, clarity and vision 
**The ability to multi-task, follow through, prioritize and delegate with confidence 
**Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to reach out to many constituencies 
**Ability to build relationships and resolve conflict while preserving trust 
**Respect for and a keen interest in the local culture with a desire to be a “learner” and an active presence in the community 
**The ability to lead and work collaboratively with a talented team of teachers, administrators, and other school personnel 
**Evidence of an optimistic “can-do” attitude and the ability to work flexible hours outside the regular school day 
**Demonstrated ability to be decisive and to build trust with faculty and administrators 
**Experience in developing an outstanding faculty through recruitment, evaluation, and professional development 
**Experience with strategic planning, and program development 
**Demonstrated personal and professional integrity and a commitment to ethical behaviour and leadership
 
Desirable Qualities and Skills:  Experience working in the Middle East and a working knowledge of a second language.

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Prefer candidates with international experience

Salary Range:
