SeeksTeachers is currently looking for a passionate Montessori principal to be based in Beijing, the capital city of China. The international Montessori is run by a large private organisation and currently has branches across China.
To apply for the position, you MUST have the following:
** Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or higher in Education
** Minimum of 5 years experience in senior teaching/leadership position, international experience preferred
** International experience preferred
** Good understanding of Montessori school system
** Strong management and leadership skills
** Must be a native English speaker and western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
** Ability to work effectively with others
** Excellent communications skill
** Knowledge in Chinese culture and language is desirable but not essential
The school itself is located on a 10 acres of green-land in the heart of Beijing with great access to every part of the city. It has a large campus with over 100 students currently enrolled in the school. The school offers facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms, indoor and outdoor playroom, music room, library and IT labs for both the students and staff. The school has over 50 staff from all over the world and a small percentage of local staff.
Your duties will include:
** Managing day to day operations of the school
** Provide information and reports to the board of the school operations
** Supervise, manage and working closely with the staff to provide a high quality education
** Responsible for recruitment, deployment, performance and development of the staff;
** Communicate and maintain good relationship with the staff and parents
** Responsible for students' disciplines/behaviour and ensuring students are learning in a safe environment
** Develop staff schedules
** Plan, organise and supervise school activities
Beijing is China's second largest city in terms of population. It has grown rapidly since hosting the Olympics event in 2008 and becomes one of the "hottest" work destination for the expats.
