Teach in Hong Kong
PYP Visual Arts Teacher
August 2026 start
Are you a creative, passionate Visual Arts educator who believes every child is an artist? Do you love nurturing imagination, experimentation, and self-expression through an inquiry-based approach? A brand-new international school is opening in Hong Kong in August 2026, and we are seeking an inspiring PYP Visual Arts Teacher to join our client's pioneering team.
Launching with Year 1–3 and 4–5 classes, this is a rare opportunity to shape the identity and culture of a new school — and to build an arts programme that will excite and empower young learners.
As our Founding PYP Visual Arts Teacher, you will have the freedom and excitement of designing the entire Visual Arts programme from scratch. From the studio environment to your approach to teaching and learning, your vision will guide how art is experienced, celebrated, and integrated throughout the school.
🌟 We Are Looking For an Educator Who:
- Holds a recognized teaching qualification and has experience teaching Visual Arts at the primary level.
- Has experience with, or a strong understanding of, the IB PYP framework, especially concept-driven and inquiry-based learning.
- Is enthusiastic about experimenting with diverse media — drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, mixed media, and more.
- Brings creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit to curriculum design and unit integration.
- Is excited about working in a new school environment, contributing to routines, traditions, and cultural foundations.
- Values inclusion and can support learners with diverse abilities and artistic backgrounds.
- Communicates confidently in English; additional languages are welcomed.
🖌️ Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Designing and delivering a PYP-aligned Visual Arts curriculum for Year 1–3 students.
- Creating a joyful, inspiring studio environment where children feel safe to experiment and express themselves.
- Collaborating with homeroom and specialist teachers to design integrated units of inquiry.
- Initiating school-wide arts experiences — exhibitions, murals, collaborative installations, and community art events.
- Curating and managing art materials, tools, and resources for a new programme.
- Helping build a creative, caring, and forward-thinking school culture as part of the founding team.
🌈 What Our Client Offers:
- A unique opportunity to build a Visual Arts programme from the beginning.
- A passionate team committed to innovation, inquiry, and child-centered learning.
- Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Rich professional development and future leadership pathways.
- The chance to live and teach in dynamic, multicultural Hong Kong.
If you are an imaginative, committed Visual Arts educator excited to shape a new school’s creative future, we would love to hear from you.
