Description

Leadership Position in China
Head of Early Years

A vibrant, innovative British International School in Beijing where creativity, curiosity, and kindness lead the way.

Our client believes that the early years are the most exciting and transformative part of a child's educational journey. The school's Early Years programme is all about laying the foundation for a love of learning – one that sparks curiosity, inspires wonder, and fosters independence. Located in the suburb of Beijing, the school brings together a community of educators, parents, and children from around the world, united by a passion for nurturing bright, confident, and caring global citizens.

Our client is looking for an energetic, visionary, and fun-loving leader to help their youngest learners take their first big steps in education – and make those steps unforgettable.

The Role:
As Head of Early Years, you will be the captain of the early learning ship, steering it through the waves of creativity, exploration, and discovery. You will lead a team of talented and enthusiastic early years educators, shaping and nurturing the curriculum, guiding student development, and fostering an environment where children feel safe, supported, and empowered to take on the world.

Your role will go beyond the classroom – you’ll be a champion for our youngest learners, a collaborator with parents, and an advocate for the latest and greatest in early childhood education.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Inspiring Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor our Early Years team to create an environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and joy in learning.
- Curriculum Innovation: Champion the development of a dynamic, play-based, and child-centred curriculum that encourages exploration, communication, and problem-solving.
- Building Relationships: Partner closely with parents, helping them feel a part of their child’s early education journey and creating a strong home-school connection.
- Well-being First: Ensure every child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development is supported, ensuring they feel valued and capable.
- Creative Vision: Bring fresh ideas and innovative strategies to the table, keeping our Early Years programme playful, engaging, and aligned with global best practices.
- Collaborating with the Community: Develop connections with the wider school community and other educators to share ideas, spark creativity, and foster a spirit of continuous growth.

Who We’re Looking For:
* A Passionate Leader: You’re an experienced educator with a deep love for Early Years education, and you’re ready to lead a team of bright and passionate individuals who share that love.
* Creative & Visionary: You’re full of big ideas and the drive to turn them into reality. You understand that play isn’t just fun – it’s learning in action.
* A Relationship Builder: You thrive on building meaningful connections with children, parents, and your team, creating a warm, welcoming environment for all.
* Informed & Innovative: You’re up to date with the latest trends in early childhood education, from pedagogy to technology, and you’re not afraid to try something new.
* Organised with a Side of Fun: You have a sharp mind for organisation and strategy, but you also know how to keep the energy up and the atmosphere fun, exciting, and full of laughter.

What You’ll Need:
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent).
* Significant experience in Early Years education, ideally with leadership experience in a primary or early years setting.
* A strong understanding of British Early Years education and global best practices in early childhood pedagogy.
* A flair for creativity and a passion for hands-on, experiential learning.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage students, staff, and parents alike.
* Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Mandarin is a bonus, but not a deal-breaker.

Why Join Our Client?
- Amazing Kids: You’ll be shaping young minds in an environment where every day brings new excitement, discovery, and the joy of seeing children grow and thrive.
- Dynamic Team: Join a team of forward-thinking educators who are always ready to try new things, collaborate, and inspire each other.
- A Beautiful City: Beijing is a city of contrasts – ancient history meets modern innovation. It’s an incredible place to live, work, and explore.
- Fantastic Benefits: Competitive salary, accommodation package, health insurance, relocation support, and professional development opportunities galore.
