Secondary English Teacher

Location: Yangon, Myanmar
Start Date: August 2025
Curriculum: UK National Curriculum
Salary: Up to $2,000 USD/month (tax-free)
Contract Type: Full-time, 2-year renewable


Overview:
A reputable British international school in Yangon, Myanmar is recruiting a qualified and experienced Secondary English Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality English instruction to Key Stage 3–4 students, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The school follows the UK National Curriculum and offers a supportive, inclusive, and professional teaching environment with a strong focus on academic excellence and student development.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject

  • Teaching qualification from the UK (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

  • Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience at secondary level

  • Experience with the UK National Curriculum (GCSE/IGCSE essential; A-Level preferred)

  • Previous international teaching experience is desirable

  • Strong communication skills, cultural adaptability, and a commitment to student progress

Must be a native speaker of English
Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered
Prefer candidates with international experience
Open University qualification(s) are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Additional:
**Experience of teaching in South East Asia or around is beneficial

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 15000 up to 2000  USD (U.S. Dollar) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Flight(s) provided annual flights are provided for the teacher
Bereavement Leave:
Bereavement leave given

Gratuity Amount:
