About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary Teacher to teach Citizenship and Social Development (CSD) and Chinese History at our client's dynamic and forward-thinking school in Shenzhen.
This role is suited for a dedicated educator who values civic education, historical understanding, and the development of responsible global citizens. The successful candidate must hold a valid Hong Kong Teacher Registration Certificate, as required by school policy and local education regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Citizenship and Social Development and Chinese History, aligned with relevant curriculum standards.
- Promote critical thinking, civic awareness, and historical understanding among students.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and assessment methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Foster respectful discussion and analysis of contemporary social and political issues.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Organise and support enrichment activities, such as cultural events, debates, or study tours.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and whole-school initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
*Valid Hong Kong Teacher Registration Certificate (mandatory).
*Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, B.Ed, QTS, or equivalent).
*Bachelor's degree or higher in Chinese History, Social Studies, Education, or a related field.
*Experience teaching CSD and/or Chinese History at secondary level.
*Proficient in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese.
*Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
*Strong understanding of Hong Kong’s education reforms and the Citizenship and Social Development curriculum.
Desirable:
*Experience teaching in Hong Kong or in a bilingual/international school setting.
*Familiarity with HKDSE curriculum or IBDP framework.
*Ability to teach in both traditional and simplified Chinese.
*Commitment to student well-being and character development.
