Whole School Principal | Teach in Tanzania

 
I am looking for an experienced Principal to join my client in Tanzania. This is a small school with about 30 students. Due to COVID the numbers have dropped but the school is well known in the community and has potential to be much busier.
 
Due to visa regulations in the country, I am ideally seeking someone less 50 years of below as the government will not the grant the visa to anyone older.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of the UK National curriculum and would have experience of running a school in Africa and be understanding to the culture as well as the working environment and the challenges involved. You would also need to be sociable person to build connection with parents and organisations in the local community
 
Requirements to apply

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a recognised post-graduate teaching qualification

 
Knowledge 
Essential

  1. In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Cambridge curriculum and the National Curriculum of England or/Scotland/or Ireland/ or Wales.

OR

  1. Experience of/knowledge of PYP International Baccalaureate/other curricula if there is evidence that that knowledge/experience can be transferred to successfully working within a Cambridge/English NC framework.
  2. Understanding of how children learn in a high achieving and successful school. 
  3. Evidence of strong professional subject knowledge.
  4. Evidence of online curriculum delivery (Google Classroom, Seesaw)
  5. Understanding of use of data to raise standards.
  6. Strategies for improving the quality of teaching and learning to become a high-performance school.
  7. Understanding of current approaches to teaching literacy and numeracy.
  8. Understanding of appropriate strategies for managing pupils’ behaviour.

 
Experience 
Essential

  1. Minimum of 10 years teaching experience. 
  2. Minimum of 5 years strong senior leadership experience with ability and proven experience in management at senior leadership team level.
  3. Minimum of 3 years recent experience in sub-Saharan Africa, with proven adaptability to slightly challenging infrastructure e.g., power cuts, internet cuts, water, etc
  4. Recent leadership and management experience in an international school.
  5. Experience in leading learning-focused schools. 
  6. Experience of financial management, including the management of significant budgets. 
  7. Experience of, and passion for, pupil recruitment initiatives and admissions processes. 
  8. Demonstrable success in leading and motivating people to achieve and exceed strategic objectives. 
  9. Experience of curriculum and learning data management and timetabling. 
  10. Evidence of delivering co-curricular programmes that enhance the life of the school.
  11. Evidence of personal commitment to continuous professional development

 
Desirable 

  1. Responsibility for leading a core subject across the school.
  2. Evidence of the development of policies or curriculum schemes of work.
  3. Evidence of delivering whole school/key stage professional development training.

  1. Salary up to $3000 USD per month
  2. FREE Furnished 2-bedroom housing or a housing allowance of $800USD per month

  7. FREEE tuition up to 2 children aged K-Grade 7

Salary Range:
A salary from 2700 up to 3000  USD (U.S. Dollar) per month based on experience and qualification,
