The European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) are looking for German Teachers; that are passionate about delivering high-quality education, enjoy teaching and improving their teaching practice. EIS teachers benefit from regular professional development and are expected to contribute to the professional development of others.

The European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) was founded in 2009 and is a member of A-Star Education, Singapore. The school is an independent, co-educational and multicultural international school. The school is authorized by the International Baccalaureate and is accredited (2018) by the Council of International Schools (CIS). The campus is located in a suburban district of the city and is considered a boutique “educational village” comprised of 13 renovated villas in a tropical garden setting, enhanced with purpose build facilities.
 
The current enrolment of the school is 570 students, approximately 200 of whom are in the Middle and High Schools.  There are 46 nationalities represented, the largest representations being from Korea, Vietnam, Germany, UK and Australia.  Over 60% of the student body are English as a Second Language students.

The successful candidate will have:
  1. A current teaching certificate, PGCE or equivalent;
  2. A Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent;
  3. High level of written and oral English
  4. Qualifications for and experience in teaching German Language and Literature to high school (pre-university) German mother tongue candidates would be beneficial.
  5. PYP / MYP / DP teaching experience.
  6. Excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills
  7. Candidates must be single or have 1 dependent.
  8. Candidates need to have IB experiences
Responsibilities:
  1. Homeroom teacher duties
  2. Teaching German language mother tongue and second language classes
  3. Potential for language coordinator responsibility
  4. Active member of the school community
  5. All teachers are expected to contribute to the development of the academic and pastoral curriculum, working independently and as part of the team.
  6. Supervision of after-school activities

Characterisitics:

Successful candidates need to be able to demonstrate a growth mind-set and an understanding of the challenges inherent in being a small but growing school.  As an IB school, experience of teaching in an IB school is an advantage, through the school will always consider well qualified and self-motivated teachers from other teaching backgrounds.  A willingness to engage fully in the school's community, enrichment activities, excursions and other events is a must.  

  1. Desire to teach international curricula, in particular the IB PYP and MYP programmes.
  2. Desire to work on whole school programmes and initiatives
  3. Experience in pastoral care and enthusiasm to be a homeroom teacher
  4. Willingness and ability to offer creative, active or service related extra-curricular activities.

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 76,076,000 up to 94,519,000  VND (Vietnam Dong) per month based on experience and qualification, 35% Tax is applied
Housing:
Housing allowance of 15,000,000  VND (Vietnam Dong) provided
