We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and visionary Primary Head of Learning Support to lead and develop an inclusive, world-class support programme at our client's outstanding British international school in Beijing. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a dedicated specialist who is passionate about ensuring every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As Primary Head of Learning Support, you will:
- Lead a dynamic Learning Support (LS) and SEND team across the Primary School.
- Oversee early identification, assessment, and support for students with a wide range of learning needs.
- Ensure high-quality provision aligned with UK best practice, including the SEND Code of Practice.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders, teachers, parents, and external specialists to develop personalised support plans.
- Provide professional development and coaching to staff to strengthen inclusive classroom practice.
- Use data and evidence-informed strategies to monitor progress and impact.
- Contribute to whole-school wellbeing and safeguarding priorities.
About You
We are looking for a leader who brings:
*A recognised teaching qualification and a relevant SEND/learning support specialism (e.g., NASENCo, SEN Certificate, or equivalent).
*Significant experience supporting primary-aged learners within a British or international school setting.
*A strong track record in leading teams, designing provision, and raising achievement for students with diverse needs.
*Deep understanding of current UK SEND practice and inclusive education.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
*A commitment to professional growth and to fostering an inclusive, nurturing school culture.
*International experience is beneficial but not essential.
