Excellent PD

Our client is an international school based in central Doha, Qatar. It is an all-girls Islamic school that provides sound British education to local Qatari children as well as girls from other nationalities. As it is an Islamic school all the students are Muslim at this school. The school teaches using the Cambridge international curriculum with incorporated Islamic studies into the timetable.

The school currently has 1000 girls on roll who are from 3 years of age through to 16. From Early years pre-school through to Primary are based in one purpose built campus. The secondary students are based across a small playing field in a separate campus building where they will study IGCSE  through to A Level across all subject areas including Islamic studies.

The primary teachers are expected to be experienced general primary teachers who can deliver English, Maths, Science, Humanities, ICT, PE and Art. The Secondary teachers are preferred to have a relevant degree in the teaching subject but is not a must.

Professional development is a key focus at the school as teacher development and support is something the school feel very strongly for. All teachers are to spend time out of there timetable to attend training and development programs set by the senior management which they are qualified in. There are a range of qualified teachers who work at the school, some have more than 10 years of experience and some of the teachers are very strong newly qualified teachers.

Qatar is in the midst of educational reform of the highest standard. Always looking to improve and progress the seniors of Qatar have heavily invested in education as they realise that it is the future generations who will take over and expand the initial seeds of investment they have planted now. Using the mass energy wealth Qatar has made some amazing investments in construction, real estate, travel, tourism, medicine and off course education. Amazing international investments such as the shard, Harrods, Barclays, Sainsbury’s have also put a Qatar on the map.
