I am seeking a STRONG Academic Manager to join my client in Oman. My client is an international school delivering the UK Cambridge curriculum to mainly Omani and local students. The teachers are mixed at this school from local and overseas countries. The role of an Academic Manager at this school is to oversee the curriculum, staff training and quality assurance of teachers in the school.
This is is an exciting role to bridge the gap between teachers and management and to ensure there is a high level of teaching and learning taking place.

Requirements to apply
**B.Ed or Bachelors degree plus teaching qualification like a PGCE/valid state teaching license
**A Master Degree in Education
**Minimum of 10 years of experience in education or experience as an Academic Manager/Principal in an International School. 
**Must have an excellent command of written and spoken English
**Experince of the UK National Currriculum/Cambridge Curriuculum is essential
**Must have Training skills and proven work record in academic monitoring, planning and administration. 
**Prior Experience as a Director of Studies or Academic Manager or Principal is preferred.
**Tech savvy
**Ability to encourage teamwork and solicit ideas of teachers
**Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and advanced knowledge in implementing plans to respond to academic-related issues. 
The Academic Manager Duties will include:
**Manage and update academic program (national & International) to meet curriculum goals. 
**Monitor student behaviour both inside and outside classrooms.
**Provide guidance and support to Academic Advisors. 
**Manage student information that includes parent information, health issues, personal problems, etc. 
**Monitor student attendance and provide appropriate notifications.  
**Provide guidance to students on personal and academic concerns. 
**Discuss student progress with instructors and parents. 
**Monitor student academic progress and provide guidance to students.
**Manage student registration activities.
**Providing academic support, guidance and training for teachers
**Managing human resources (human and material)
**Scheduling classes and timetables
**Managing quality education and Controlling the quality of the academic programs
**Overseeing of placement testing for prospective students and supervise remedial plans
**Organizing extra-curricular activities
**Participating in the growth and development of the school
Teacher Management
A Director of Studies can be compared to a team captain. Your job to exert academic management in order to build the character and dynamic of the team. As part of your daily duties, you'll have the opportunity to continue your own teaching while providing guidance and support to the newer teaching staff.
Teacher Development
The school is thriving to raise its academics so you will be a key driver of the academic integrity and teaching quality in your school. The school facilitate new teacher induction training and regular continuous professional development meetings.
As an Academic Manager, you will be involved in managing, marketing and supervising day-to-day teaching programs of all teachers. Many Academic Managers also undertake to teach and/or substitute teaching roles personally, but the precise duties will be agreed with the Head of the Institution as the school’s needs change. The main focus of an Academic Manager’s job is teacher management. 
Specific Work Elements
You will be required to:
**Manage curriculum review
**Supervise teacher quality assessment (Continuous assessment) periodically
**Manage the accreditation of school courses
**Assist with releasing the school’s annual research report
**Attend school committee meetings
**Ensure student examination arrangements conform set requirements of the school
**Monitor the process of recruitment
**Admission and induction of students
**Enforcing policies stipulated in the school’s regulations
**Arranging training for staff
Teacher Trainer: 
You should ideally have the knowledge and practical experience in a specific topic that you transfers via sessions, exercises, case studies, examples along with presentations. A trainer to be a blend between a Teacher/Instructor and a Facilitator. Thus the personal skills are as crucial as the knowledge and expertise of that person.

**Your bachelor's degree MUST in education or have a valid teaching qualification
**Having a Master's is beneficial to your application
**Experience of teaching in the Middle East is beneficial to your application
**If you have experience of working in an Islamic environment/students is beneficial for you
**Offering a secondary subject, this would help your application
**Singles teachers or teaching couples with NO CHILDREN are preferred

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 9000 up to 1500  OMR (Omani Rial) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
