SeekTeachers is seeking for an experience Head of Junior School to join our client in Singapore. The position is for January/February 2017 start.
Our client is a private international school established about 10 years ago offering an unique bilingual curriculum to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The school offers a bilingual program (English and Chinese) that intergrates Eastern and Western values, through the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy.
The school is a growing school with approximately 400 students at present and a staff strength of 65 from 15 countries. To bring out the best in the students, the school offers an excellent learning spaces for work and play. All the classrooms are equipped with IT facilities to enhance the learning experience for students across all ages. The school also offers attractive outdoor facilities including football field, swimming pool, olympic-sized track and indoor sports hall.
Job descriptions:
**Benchmarking the curriculum as per IB standards and practices
**Updating the curriculum with ultimate aim of running the International Baccalaureate Programs
**Providing all teachers in the School with a strong professional development program including the IB training of teachers in collaboration with the IB.
**Management of school within the spirit of the school’s Mission and Vision statement
**Undertaking the professional appraisal of all teachers following the agreed school-wide policy laid down by the Principal and HR.
**Advising the Principal on School staffing, budgetary and facility needs
**Recruiting teachers in close collaboration with the Principal and HR
**Undertaking the provision of all teaching materials necessary for the teachers, in their teaching.
**Meeting regularly with teaching staff and involving them directly in aspects of curriculum design, curriculum review, and behavioural expectations of students.
**Implementing a process of reporting regularly to parents on student academic and social development.
**Developing the framework for the Scheme of Work and the Assessment Policy
**Supervise the completion of the designed curriculum each year
**Meeting the academic standards as per IB standards and practices
**Revisiting the Assessment policy each year with staff
To apply, you must be a fully qualified pre-school educator with minimum of 3 years leadership experience, strong IBPYP curriculum background and some international teaching experience.
