An established school in Dubai is currently seeking a Western trained, SEN/ Special Needs teacher with a minimum of 2 years’ experience with a bachelor’s degree and SEN certification to teach the American curriculum in a bilingual Arabic-English school. The individual must be culturally sensitive and must have experience and training dealing with multicultural settings. The SEN job description is as follows:
**Provide lessons that encourage personal challenge and advance self-esteem
**Commit to making the classroom environment safe enough to make mistakes
**Provide special education consultation and direct instruction with special needs students. Additional responsibilities include customizing individual IEP's to enhance annual learning objectives, working with parents, school staff, school psychologist, and community.
**Create, expand, or adapt individualized curriculum for exceptional students. Model, instruct, and counsel students in social, behavioral, emotional, and life skills.
**Function as case manager for each student creating individual IEPs and maintain extensive and varied data.
**Work closely with school behavior specialist, administration, parents, and educational assistants.
**Maintain a structured class environment allowing students to flourish in a classroom in which individual abilities are respected and honored.
