We are pleased to be working with one of our clients in Malaysia who are currently hiring a Year 4 teacher to join their team in August 2014.
This private international school follows UK national curriculum for students from Year 1 to Year 13. There are approximately 500 students in the school which majority with local Malaysian students and 10% expatriate students.
Duties and responsibilities:
*Supporting the development of children's basic skills, including physical coordination, speech and communication;
*Encouraging children's mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play;
*Developing children's curiosity and knowledge;
*Working with others, including teaching assistants and/or nursery nurses as well as volunteer *helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors;
*Sharing knowledge gained with other practitioners and parents;
*Observing, assessing and recording each child's progress;
*Keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice;
The number of teaching staff in this school is about 60 comprised of 80% expatriates and 20% non-expatriates, and most of the expatriate teachers are UK trained qualified educators. The teaching week consists of 30 hours a week and teachers has about 50 days per year.
Malaysia has 2 separate lands - the peninsula and the east Malaysia. Both of them have different culture and ethnic with Malay, Chinese and Indian. The range of cuisine and cooking style are also different, people love to try the authentic and high standard of quality food from local hawker stalls, coffee shops and restaurants in the town.
