Head of History | Teaching position in Malaysia | January 2016 start | Interview immediately
 
SeekTeachers is currently recruiting for a professional and committed Head of History on behalf of our prestigious client.  This role is permanent and will be based in Selangor, Malaysia.
 
Our client is a private international school delivers the English National Curriculum and caters for children from Key Stage 1 to 4. The school has just over 500 students at present and still growing.
 
Role and responsibilities: 
*To plan, create and implement the History curriculum in secondary level
*To follow the British National curriculum requirements and international standards
*Coordinate Secondary History groups
*Work alongside with Executive Principals to ensure the appropriate staff is employed
*To assist and be part of the recruitment and retention process
*Be responsible for school-parent communication regarding student’s performance and organisation of music activities and events
*Oversee the maintenance of facilities in the History department
*Oversee and ensure the appropriate level of resources in the Music
*Work with external organisation to promote music and art within the community
*To work closely with the Executive Principals to develop budget for secondary division
*Teach History (the work load will be determined by Executive Principals)
*Expand the teacher program and oversee History after-school
 
Minimum requirements: 
**Bachelor Degree in History or relevant subject
**Relative teaching qualification
**Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, ideally international school settings
**Minimum 3 years of school management experience
**Native English speaker
**Excellent team player as well as work individually
**Be able to work under pressure
Flexible and adaptable to new culture

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:
5 Years

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 10,000 up to 12,000  MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
Housing:
Housing allowance of RM1,500   MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) provided

State/Public medical provided
