An established and growing IB World School in Cyprus is seeking an experienced and passionate IB DP Coordinator and MYP/DP English Teacher to join its Secondary School team for an August 2026 start.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced IB Diploma Programme Coordinator, IB English Teacher, or aspiring senior leader looking to advance their career within a high-performing international school. About the Role
The IB DP Coordinator will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the Diploma Programme, ensuring compliance with IB standards and practices, supporting curriculum development, overseeing assessment and examinations, and promoting excellence in teaching and learning.
Alongside programme leadership responsibilities, the successful candidate will teach English across the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), delivering engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire students to become confident communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.
Key Responsibilities
IB Diploma Programme Coordination
- Lead and manage the successful delivery of the IB Diploma Programme.
- Ensure alignment with IB standards, practices, and programme requirements.
- Coordinate DP curriculum planning, assessment, reporting, and programme review.
- Oversee student registration, examinations, and IB documentation.
- Monitor student academic progress and coordinate intervention strategies.
- Support and mentor teachers in implementing effective IB pedagogy.
- Lead professional development related to the Diploma Programme.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
- Promote international-mindedness and the IB Learner Profile across the school.
Teaching Responsibilities
*Teach MYP English and DP English Language & Literature.
*Deliver high-quality, student-centred learning experiences.
*Foster inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
*Contribute to curriculum development and collaborative planning.
*Support students with Extended Essays and other DP Core requirements as appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, QTS, or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and/or IB Diploma Programme (DP).
- Strong understanding of IB curriculum, assessment, and programme requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and academic success.
- Ability to thrive within an international and multicultural environment.
Preferred
*Previous experience as an IB DP Coordinator, Assistant DP Coordinator, Head of Department, or Curriculum Leader.
*IB workshop leader, examiner, or curriculum development experience.
*Experience supporting university applications and student progression.
*Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, English, or a related field.
