Our client is an established bilingual school located in Shanghai. This school has three campuses across Shanghai city covering the Primary, Middle School and Senior School year.
The Primary school is located about 15 mins away from Shanghai city centre with a good size campus in a residential area. The school offers both the British IPC and Shanghainese curriculum to children aged from 5 to 11. The school has just over 300 children at present with over 15 different nationalities. All the children are hardworking, discipline and keen to learn.
The school has about 40 teaching staff. All the teaching staff are qualified teachers coming from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and China.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor degree or above in a related subject
- Have a min of 5 years counselling experience in a Primary school setting
- 2 years of international working experience preferred
- Have work experience of social-emotional counselling and learning support
- Good communication skills
- Valid teaching certification and counselling qualification
Job Descriptions:
**Design, develop and manage School counselling program with differentiated delivery for students;
**Ensure counselling guidelines and procedures are developed through working with Upper and Lower School Coordinators and Head of Academics;
**Support referral and follow-up process as needed;
**Support students individually or through groups to develop emotional/social skills;
**Provide individual or group counselling to students with identified needs and concerns;
**Provide appropriate information to school staff on campus counselling program;
**Work closely with the Head of Academics and the Learning Support Coordinator on Learning Support needs for individual students;
**Understand and be able to offer support or advice on Individual Education Plans;
**Provide training for staff on safeguarding risk assessment and learning support strategies;
**Assist staff and parents in interpreting and understanding learning support assessments;
**Work closely with Head of Child Safeguarding to implement training and ensure policies and practices are being observed;
**Manage Safeguarding officer to work with staff and students to assess and follow up with Child Safeguarding procedures;
**Understand and support Positive Discipline practices;
**Teaching Requirement as directed by Head of School.
