An international school in Beijing is looking for an experience Housemaster/Housemistress to join them this August. This is an international school located in a quiet, clean and secure location with a large, modern and purpose built campus, approximately 45 mins away from the historical Great Wall.
The school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school caters for children from aged 5 to 18 with boarding facilities. There are over 2,000 students in the whole school with majority of them are Chinese students and 10% of expatriates.
The housemaster/housemistress is expected to:
**Be responsible for the academic, physical and social well being of all pupils in the House
**Monitor progress through House Tutors and the early discussion with Head of School/pupils where problem arise
**Operate a fair system of justice within a House which is in line with the school rules and other Houses
**Inform the Head of School in any cases of bullying, substance misuse and sexual misconduct
**Ascertain where pupils are going at half term and end of term
**Liaise with parents and guardians over any overnight leave
**Check the internal conditions in the House
**Liaise with the relevant staff to ensure pupils' clothes and personal belongings are used appropriately and stored securely and tidily
**Phone the parents if a day pupil is absent without explanation
**Boarders' parents should be consulted whenever possible regarding minor illness, emotional stress or change of academic course
**Responsible for overseeing the health of pupils and to encourage a healthy lifestyle
