SeekTeachers is currently looking for a Montessori teacher to be based in the historical Beijing, China. The Montessori was established over 10 years ago and has approximately 450 students. About 50 of the students come from expatriate families with the remaining come from the local families. There are about 50 school staff in the school with majority of them are expatriates coming from USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
The private International Montessori is located in the suburb of China and surrounding by greenery. The school environment is safe hence make it a great place for studying and teaching. The school campus is only 30 mins away from the Great Wall and has shuttle bus outside the school that take you to Beijing town centre.
The school has just recently refurbished and has added a large indoor playroom. Other facilities also include colourful decorated classrooms with air-conditioner, library room, art room, multi-purpose hall, large green field, outdoor playing area and a canteen.
Job specifications:
- Maintains regular communication with parents with regard to the student needs
- Responsible for the safety of the students within the lesson and school environment
- Deliver Montessori curriculum as agreed by the school
- Use different teaching strategies to deliver lesson and observe student learning development
- Work with student of various abilities
- Teachers are in the classroom for 7.5 hours per day
- Register student's attendance
- Attend parents and school meetings
Beijing is the second largest city in China after Shanghai. The city has a rich cultures with many historical buildings can be seen in the city. Places such Tiananmen Square, Bird Nest stadium, Ming Dynasty City Wall Site Park, Drum and Bells Tower and Great Wall are definitely places to visit. Eating in Beijing is definitely interesting and exciting with many different varieties from the street food to expensive restaurants. Beijing is also a very safe city, and violent crime is extremely rare.
