The Principal (who is also from the United Kingdom) will be flying down to interview in person. As a Head of Department, we are looking for some that has a proven track record of actually managing a department. You need to have ideally 2-3 years of experience being a HoD in addition to your teaching duties. You need to show you have added value to your last school and successfully let a department of Art Teachers to achieve highly. 
 
This school is very forwards thinking and is pro-active in arts and promotes students to get engaged in arts and crafts. The Principal will be looking for someone that is flexible to grow  the department and adapt to teaching life in Egypt.
 
Requirements:
**Degree in Art and Design
**Experience teaching up to A level
**MUST be a native speaker of English
**Western trained
**Have excellent command of written and spoken English
**Have a PGCE in Art and Design or equivalent
**At least 3 years experience as a Head of Department
**Should have good expertise in fine art
 
There are two art rooms in the school with many facilities. Children also take part in performing arts and the school always activities taking place. The school population has grown to nearly 1700 students.  The school delivers the UK Curriculum of England and Wales and has gained much success with this curriculum to ensure the students are meeting targets and expectations. In addition to the UKNC it he school also delivers some of the Egyptian methodology to keep the students in tune with their cultural values. 
 
As the Head of Art you will be expected to:
**Plan and deploy and effective SoW to your Art Teachers
**Deliver high calibre lesson of Art
**Observe teachers in the Art Department
**Carry out the Department SEF
**Provide feedback with you Art Teachers of new changes
**Chair Art Department meetings
**Carry out Art Department INSET's if needed
**Be responsible for the Art Department staff data
**Manage the Art Department budget
**Ensure you have a well maintained inventory of stock levels in the Art department
**Place orders when needed
**Ensure that each Art Room is a safe and clean learning environment for your students
**Report to the Senior Management Team
**Deal with Parental Complaints
**Attend Parents meetings
**Take part in after school clubs
**Set up after school Art Club
**Work closely with the Performing Arts Department also
**Be personable and be a good role model for the Art teachers in your team

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelors Degree with a PGCE/PGDE (QTS)

Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
Housing:
Housing allowance of 300  GBP (British Pound) provided
Medical:
State/Public medical provided
Flights:
Flight(s) provided annual flights for the employee only
Contract Length:
2 weeks contract renewable on mutual agreement
Additional information:
**Annual no absence bonus
**International medical insurance excluding North America
**Settling in allowance upon arrival
