About the Role
The successful candidate will teach English across the secondary age range, inspiring students to develop a deep appreciation of literature, language, and critical thinking. You will contribute to a vibrant department, support co-curricular activities, and play an active role in the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging English lessons aligned with an international curriculum
- Foster strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills in students
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Support students’ personal development as a form tutor or mentor
- Participate in school events, trips, and co-curricular programmes
Requirements
*A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
*A degree in English or a closely related field
*Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (IGCSE/GCSE and/or IB experience desirable)
*A passion for literature and language, with the ability to inspire students of diverse backgrounds
*Strong classroom management and organisational skills
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
