SeekTeachers is recruiting for Head of Music for an established non-profit school in China. The position is based in Shanghai and to commence in Aug 2018.
Main Responsibilities:
**Work with Director of Senior Secondary Academic Affairs to ensure scope and sequence of subject course offerings are logical and represent best practice while also complying with government requirements
**Serve on the School Secondary Division curriculum committee to set and develop the curriculum as the school grows using curriculum mapping tools and “Understanding by Design” planning principles
**Work with the Director of Senior Secondary Academic Affairs to ensure full department grade entry and reporting at set grading periods
**Articulate the department representing the program to staff, parents, visitors to school and administration
**Follow the overall performance of students who do not find success in subject area and work with subject teachers to create and deliver action plans for differentiated help and support
**Work with Director of Senior Secondary Academic Affairs to ensure good and proper professional development opportunities are provided for and professional development expectations are met by members of the department
**Unify department parties including assessment and reporting, teaching and use of language policy
**Liaise with logistics department to ensure smooth and timely purchasing to meet department needs
To apply:
*Bachelor’s degree or above with major in music or related subject area;
*At least 5 years’ full-time teaching experience in senior secondary school; working experience in boarding school is a plus;
*Teaching qualification;
*English as mother tongue;
*Open-minded, innovative spirit, strong desire to learn, excellent team player, strong sense of responsibility;
*Living in dorm is possibly requested;
