About this Course
  1. This qualification provides an opportunity to study a range of topics from three main areas: child care and education, babysitting and parenting responsibilities. It contains all the units included in the Level 2 Award in Babysitting and the Level 2 Award in Preparation for the Responsibilities of Parenting. Additionally there are units covering learning, development and play.
Course Outcomes
  1. The course provides a background to the EYFS before going on to look at revisions to the EYFS in more detail.
  2. This course has been updated to include information about the most recent changes to the EYFS.
  3. This qualification is designed as entry to the workforce at Level 2 and may support progression into a range of job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors.

Course Suitable For
  1. This qualification is suitable for a range of learners from the age of 16 onwards who have little or no experience in childcare
  2. Teachers of the early years in government, private or international schools
About this Course
  1. The aim of this qualification is to prepare learners to work with children between birth and five years, with knowledge of children up to seven years.
  2. Learners could also progress on to the Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care or the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce.
Course Outcomes
  1. The Level 2 Diploma Introducing Caring for Children and Young People will give learners a basic understanding of childcare and education, parenting and babysitting. It will also help them to make an informed choice about working with children and young people.
  2. All the units are optional, giving greater flexibility to learners and tutors when deciding on a programme of study and maximising learner achievement.
  3. On completion of the Diploma, learners can progress to the Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and the Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE).
