Founded in 2007, the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute, or ADVETI, was founded to help educate the local Emirati nationals and today has grown and expanded out into seven institutions, each dedicated to educate the nationals in the area. Although the main Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute is located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the institution also has many campuses, as well as both satellite and sister schools located all across the United Arab Emirates.
 
The institute and its sister academic schools offer qualifications as a diploma level, numbering over 30 different types between all of the institutions. English is the main language taught with in the school but Arabic is also used frequently, all students are expected to hold a competent grasp of the English language. The vocational training of the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institution has been designed to better prepare students for the challenges of the modern world, allowing them to compete effectively against other students on the global stage and rise to move the world forwards in the retail, business, hotel management, finance, property, environmental, safety, design, health, paralegal, medical, hospitality, travel & tourism and information technology sectors, as well as many more. 

All diploma courses last for around 36 hours a week but vary greatly depending on the course chosen, however, the days are always between Sunday and Thursday and students may work an additional six hours on Saturdays with the option of evening classes. 

Throughout the year, many bazaars and expositions are held and the UAE National Day is also celebrated at the institution yearly, additionally, many recruitment events and work placements take place throughout the year.
