The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) was established in 2005, by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the UAE President, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. ADEC seeks to develop education and educational institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, implement innovative educational policies, plans and programs that aim to improve education, and support educational institutions and staff to achieve the objectives of national development in accordance with the highest international standards.

ADEC is responsible for managing, guiding, adopting and implementing various educational development strategies and initiatives in Abu Dhabi.  The New School Model allows for English Medium Teachers (EMT's) to be recruited so that it can raise standards from the ground up. Teachers are recruited in the following areas:
  • Kindergarten level - teaching English, Math and Science (plus other subjects as required) and co-teaching with a local Arabic teacher. This position is for Females only
  • Cycle 1 (Grades 1-5) - Teach English, Math and Science integrated as you will be a Homeroom Teacher 
  • Cycle 2 (Grades 6-9) - You must be subject specific and able to teacher either: English, Math or Science at Middle School level
  • Cycle 3 (Grade 10-12) - You must be subject specific and be able to teach English or Health & Physical Education
ADEC wants to see a raise in students levels so that there are more graduates in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).  This is in line with Abu Dhabi 2030 vision for education in the UAE.

Teachers recruited for the ADEC Licensed teacher program can be located in any of the 3 regions:
  • Al Ain
  • Abu Dhabi
  • Al Gharbia (Western region)
