Description

Gateway aims to provide a quality bilingual STEAM education to students. The STEAM teachers work with the Vietnamese STEAM teachers to provide a quality STEAM education where students follow the design process. The teacher is responsible for guiding the students through the design process and facilitate the learning. Co-teachers all STEAM classes in the grade group assigned (grade 1, grade 2-3, or grade 4-9) once per week for 2 class periods.

STEAM teachers provide opportunities for students to create and explore. The teachers collaborate with other subjects to provide a well-rounded curriculum. The curriculum followed for STEAM classes is EiE. Teachers are enthusiastic about engineering and designing, creative and flexible, understanding and compassionate, highly motivated and committed, with a positive attitude and ability to be flexible

1. Working hours: from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (Monday – Friday)
2. Each teacher will be assigned 22 - 26 lesson periods/week at the maximum ( 35  minutes/ period). The other working hours are for lesson planning, marking, supervising students,...
3. Age range: 6 - 15 years old
4. Class size: 20-24

Main responsibilities:

1. Plan, prepare and present lessons
2. Organize classes, develop learning resources and create a positive learning environment to motivate students
3. Motivate students with enthusiastic, imaginative teaching styles
4. Consult and coordinate with the Head of English Department and the Director of English program
5. Maintain the classroom’s discipline
6. Regularly check and evaluate the learning activities of students
7. Keep track on the progress of students throughout the semesters and the whole academic year
8. Provide parents with information about their children’s learning and progress
9. Answer questions of parents if any
10. Support after-school activities once per semester
11. Other jobs as assigned by the Head of English Department

Salary: commensurate with experience and qualifications (minimum at 1800 $USD/month and maximum at 2600 $USD).

Working location: Hanoi/Haiphong.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably in an area of Science, Applied Mathematics or Engineering
2. ESL teaching certificate (TESOL, CELTA, TEFL,..)
3. Native English speakers from US, UK, Canada, Newzealand, Australia,...
4. Clean criminal records
5. A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in teaching Music
