I am currently recruiting for experienced and committed Primary Head of PE to join a leading bilingual school in Shanghai next August. 
 
My client is a non-profit private school located in downtown Shanghai, approximately 15 mins away from city centre offering an unique bilingual program - IPC and Chinese programme. Students are immersed in a two way Chinese and English programme (with co-teaching in some subjects) and teachers are required to teach fewer subjects than in a more traditional International/Western educational setting.

An ideal candidate should be:
**Bachelor degree or above in a related subject
**Teachuing qualification such as PGCE/Teaching License
**Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a similar role 
**International/IPC teaching experience is beneficial
**Bilingual/Bicultural teaching experience is preferred 
**Flexible to adapt into new culture 
**Native English speaker due to client's requirement 
 
Duties and responsibilities include:
**Teaching workload as determined by Principal 
**Make use of professional knowledge and understanding to create a stimulating, challenging and supportive learning environment that promotes student success
**Have a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum and programs in place
**Take a systematic approach of reviewing the curriculum annually
**Continually develop areas of weakness in the curriculum 
**New staff coaching
**Outline clear expectations for planning to teaching team
**Be responsible for quality checks on planning
**Plan ahead for the academic year and semester with well-grounded goals and priorities
**Conduct walkthroughs and observations with the purpose of monitoring and evaluating the consistency of teaching and learning
**Understand the school procedures for performance management and steps for providing support
**Provide clear guidelines for internal and external assessments pertinent to your subject area
**Conduct book looks with the aim of upholding consistent/quality marking in the department (where applicable)
**Support new teachers in their understanding of the subject area 
**Work with Director of Academics and the Lower and Upper Primary Directors on the development and delivery of the curriculum

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
Additional:
**International teaching experience is beneficial
**Bilingual teacher preferred but not essential
**Able to support the school residential programme
**Able to supervise and/or lead co-curricular activity during activity time
**Able to lead pastoral programme

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
