The Ministry of Education of the UAE is organizing campaigns for a face-to-face interview in China, in the UAE, and in the UK & Ireland (dates and location TO BE CONFIRMED)
 
Mandarin Lead Teacher Requirements:
**Bachelor’s Degree in English, Languages, Linguistics + CELTA (or Level 5 equivalent)
**Teaching qualification in Secondary Education with a focus on Mandarin, Languages, Linguistics
**PGCE + CELTA, DELTA (TEFL Q status) (Desirable)
**MA TEFL (Desirable)
**M.Ed (Desirable)
**Language: Excellent oral and written Mandarin is essential and a good level of English (Desirable)
**English level requirements: IELTS 6 Academic / 6.5 General (with a minimum of 6.0 in each skill) (Desirable)
 
Job Description Mandarin Lead Teacher:
**Provide leadership and create enthusiasm for teaching among members of the Mandarin subject in all cycles, to develop teamwork and balance the strengths of individuals, allocating responsibilities as appropriate and ensuring, with the Principal, that each teacher is given an equal teaching load
**Make arrangements for departmental consultation and communication, and to provide the Tri-Lingual Schools Project Manager with a copy of the notes of departmental meetings
**Monitor the implementation of the Mandarin curriculum, setting department targets as necessary, working within the aims of the school and in line with the Ministry of Education’s agenda
**Monitor and implement strategies to address each student’s area of weakness and build on their strengths Leading and Managing
**Be responsible for the induction of new staff in your school. All new teachers should be appropriately trained, monitored, supported and assessed.
**Be responsible for the day to day management of all members of the Mandarin team.
**Monitor and assess the work of your Mandarin staff through the staff development and performance management programme.
**Promote and monitor professional development within the department.
**Offer support and advice to members of the department and encourage their professional development.
**Regularly monitor the work of the Mandarin staff, ensuring that they are following the correct curriculum as set by the Ministry and adhering to policies, including marking, and schemes of work, and observing their teaching.
**Establish common standards of practice and to encourage the sharing of good practice within the department and develop the effectiveness of teaching and learning styles. This should be shared with the Tri-Lingual Schools Project Manager and the Principal so that all subjects can benefit
 
Salary and Bonus:
**TAX-FREE Monthly salary: up to AED 27,000 per month TAX-FREE
**FREE Medical insurance for the teacher, spouse, and up to 3 children
**FREE flights for the teacher, spouse and up to 3 children under 18 of age (entry and exit)
**FREE visa for the teacher only (Teacher can sponsor family)
**Gratuity bonus upon completion of the contract
**Vacation as per the school academic calendar
**Two years contract renewable
