SeekTeachers is URGENTLY seeking for an experienced and professional Founding Head of Primary to join an outstanding school group in China. This will be the second campus offering a 12-year education to Chinese nationals. Combining the strengths of eastern and western educational pedagogies, the school provides current and future generations of Chinese nationals with modern and progressive educational opportunities in China, leading to established pathways to the top universities worldwide.
This bilingual school will open in August 2019 as a Primary School, and eventually to grow into Middle and High School Year levels.
The Head of Primary will have joint responsibility for all aspects of the whole school relating to the education and development of the students.
Qualifications and Personal Development
**Previous leadership experience
**University educated with a recognised teaching qualification
**Evidence of on-going professional learning and development
**Further degree or hold or working toward the NPQH is desirable
**Experience n CIS accreditation process is desirable
**Experience in Inquiry-based or IB education is desirable
**In-depth knowledge and understanding of leadership and management in the fields of learning and communication
**Knowledge of teaching strategies and pedagogy that both engage students and achieve the highest outcomes
**Knowledge of other cultures, particularly China is desirable
The bilingual school is designed by international architects in pioneering the development of 21st-century international schools. The school will provide first-class facilities integrating collaborative learning spaces with areas dedicated to performing arts, sports, STEAM and innovation. A Grade 1-12 school, with a capacity of 1,800 students is located in the residential development of north Beijing.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the best possible learning and teaching environment and placing students at the heart of decision making
- Ensure safeguarding of students in her/his school, in line with the safeguarding framework, policies and code of conduct and in collaboration with the Principal
- Implement Health and Safety in her/his school, in collaboration with the Principal and Director of Business and Administration
- Ensure that the day to day running of the Primary School is in line with the school’s educational philosophy and that students enjoy a caring, happy and structured environment for work and play in which they, their parents and staff can feel secure
- Ensure smooth running of the day-to-day business management of the Primary School, including the deployment of resources and of the budget
- Provide support, guidance and leadership. Acts as a model of good practice for all staff
- Be professional and confident in communicating with all school stakeholders and external agents
- Seek to understand the needs and issues facing all stakeholders within the school community
