SeekTeachers is urgently seeking a Head of Prep School on behalf of our client in China. The position is to commence in August 2019.

Our client is one of the leading international school group in Asia and this position will be based in their Hangzhou campus. The school is located approximately 20 mins drive away from city centre and has a purpose-built, state of art campus containing all of the facilities we required to provide pupils with access to the very best academic and co-curricular opportunities. 
 
The Head of Prep position will inspire pupils and staff through their leadership in delivering the strategic objectives of the school. This role will work with colleagues and pupils in order to support outstanding outcomes academically, pastorally and professionally. The candidate is expected to play a key role in the strategic development of the school. 
 
Role:
- The role will lead by example as a teacher and as a manager, setting appropriate expectations for staff and pupils in relation to standard's of pupils achievements and the quality of teaching 
- Support the continued development of good and excellent teaching at the school, remaining open to changes in pedagogy whilst embedding best practice as it arises 
- Oversee the process of setting academic targets for senior pupils and to work towards their achievement 
- Work with the Deputy Academic in the monitoring of pupil progress and achievement in line with procedures including monitoring achievement with regard to peer schools 
- To assist with the collection and use of school data internally to support pupil development and externally for a wider group of stakeholders
- Liaising closely with the Head of SEN and EAL, in the event of individual student problems/concerns arising 
 
The ideal candidate should be responsible for:
- The coordination and effective delivery of the teaching and pastoral care in the Prep-school
- Leading the Prep SMT comprising the Deputy Academic, Deputy Pastoral, Head of Upper Prep and Head of Lower Prep 
- Achieving the highest standards of performance and self-discipline amongst the Prep School teaching and non-academic staff
- Drawing up to the Prep-School academic calendar
- Design, development, implementation and review of all Prep School policy documents and strategic plans, in consultation with the relevant members of the SMT 
- Attend to disciplinary matters relating to all students with the Prep-School

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
