SeekTeachers is currently looking for an exceptional Head of Secondary to join our client in China this August.
The private bilingual school located in Shanghai city centre offering a 12-year education combining the Shanghai compulsory curriculum enhanced with the school educational philosophy and pedagogy. The school curricula have been developed by Chinese and international education experts and aim to prepare the students for the 21st-century world.
The school has a beautiful learning environment, with a purpose-built campus which boasts a range of facilities such as large and airy classrooms, science laboratories, spacious library, art room, ICT/Computing labs, sports centre and theatre complete with seats up to 500 people and is built to world-class standards.
Requirements:
**University educated with an Honours Degree
**Recognised teaching qualification
**Evidence of ongoing PD
**Further degree in Education, hold or working towards the NPQH OR ILMP OR similar
**In-depth knowledge and understanding of school curriculum, EAL provision, current educational issues and up to date curriculum developments, application of effective learning and teaching strategies that attain high levels of students achievement
Role and responsibilities:
*To ensure the best possible learning and teaching environment
*Responsible for the safeguarding of students, in line with the safeguarding policy and code of conduct and in collaboration with the Headmaster
*Responsible for the Health and Safety in the school
*Responsible for day to day running of the Secondary School, ensuring that this is in line with the school's educational philosophy
*Take responsibility for the day-to-day business management of the Secondary School
**To provide support, guidance, leadership and be a model of good practice for all staff
**Be understanding of the needs and issues facing all stakeholders within the school community
