Whole school Principal in Africa | Established school in Nigeria | August 2018

This is a fully accredited school located in the vibrant city of Lagos. The school will be expanding next academic year and delivers the UK curriculum from Nursery up to Secondary School. 

Candidates that have an excellent grounding in the UK curriculum are required. The school is open to candidates with families.

It is very important for the candidate to have experience as a Whole School Principal.

Numerous activities include horse riding, picnics, beach football and sampling food or drink from the multitude of bars and eating establishments surrounding the area. Lagos is a city with plenty of local attractions which would make you forget about the UK! Everything is accessible at a cheap cost which makes the charm of this city. 

Requirements to apply: 
**Degree in Education or a PGCE in Education + NPQH 
**Having an M.Ed is beneficial
**Stable career record with little movement
**At least 3 years in management
**International teaching experience is beneficial 
**MUST be a native speaker of English
**Western-trained
**Be up to date with UK national curriculum 
**Able to adapt to a different culture and environment

The first round of interviews will take place over Skype so our client can shortlist. Following this, if you are successful you may be required to fly to Nigeria for the second round of interviews.
 

As a Principal, the school is looking for someone that will:
**Deliver the School’s Vision, Mission and Core Values
**Implement the School Development Plan (SDP)
**Is tech-savvy to engage and promote the use of technology throughout the organisation
**Build a strong community spirit within the school
**Maximise the school’s development by identifying future resource requirements 
**Periodically review the provision of health, safety and security procedures throughout the school and liaise with appropriate authorities on security matters
**Ensure that systems are in place for monitor and extend pupil progress across the school
**Participate in the Governing Council and the Board of Director in the recruitment of international teachers
**Maintain positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationship with staff, parents and the community.
**Promote the school including the management of special events to be staged at the school, by the school, or involving students from the school;
**Develop excellent professional relationships with feeder schools, developing strong links with all major international schools in Nigeria and with worldwide higher education establishments
**Perform any duties that are within the scope of employment and certifications, as assigned by the Governing Council and The Board and not otherwise prohibited by law or in conflict with contract.
**Is a problem solver and able to resolve matters in a calm, considerate and unbiased manner.

Prefer candidates with international experience

Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
