One of a growing British international school in Malaysia is hiring for a Head of English to join their growing team in February 2018. The international school located in Selangor, Malaysia with just over 500 students.
 
The international school adopts the IPC curriculum for its Primary school and CIE curriculum for its Secondary school. Students are comprised of 90% local students and 10% expatriates coming from Singapore, USA, UK and Australia. The students are all hardworking, discipline and eager to learn.
 
In order to apply, the candidate must have:
** At least 5 years teaching experience in English at Secondary school level across a wide range of attainment.
** Experience of leading initiatives within English subject and/or developing the curriculum across the school
** A track record of influencing the teaching of others
** A clear understanding and successful experience of strategies to raise attainment particularly KS4
** Experience of leading a team to raise expectations and standards
** Experience of a wider curriculum 
 
Job descriptions:
* Able to lead the implementation of a whole school policy and practice in the development 
* Able to lead the development of teaching and learning in Science, resulting in engagement, enjoyment and progress in lessons
* Established high expectations and ensure high standards of achievement for all students in Science
* Maintain up to date knowledge of English curriculum
* To engage and motivate others, to set a direction for improvement and ensure confident delivery
* High degree of competence in utilizing a range of data to raise student performance
* Strong personal organisation and administration to meet deadlines and work within school systems

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 8,500 up to 9,300  MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
